(IMAGE: AFP/FILE) The United States and Iran are edging closer to signing an agreement to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with Geneva being considered as a potential location for the signing, Bloomberg reported, citing senior officials.
The potential arrangement comes as Group of Seven (G7) leaders are set to gather in Evian, France, on June 15-17. A senior Iranian official had indicated that a deal was likely, according to a G7 official. Another official said it will likely take the form of a memorandum of understanding, rather than a final deal.
