Sharmila on Friday (June 12, 2026) criticised the TDP-led coalition government on the completion of its two years in office, describing its tenure as a period of “broken promises, mounting debt and weak governance”. “The government has failed to effectively implement its flagship ‘Super Six’ welfare promises.
Key assurances such as financial support for women, unemployment allowances, large-scale job creation, free LPG cylinders, farmer welfare schemes and educational assistance have either been only partially implemented or have remained unfulfilled,” she said in a post on X. Sharmila also accused the government of failing to deliver on several manifesto commitments, including employment generation, interest-free loans, housing for the poor, land distribution, welfare measures for SCs, STs, BCs and minorities, and support for tenant farmers.
Major irrigation projects, including Polavaram and other pending water projects, had seen little progress, she said. She said the government had increased financial burdens on citizens through higher power charges, pending fee reimbursement
dues, unpaid healthcare reimbursements under Aarogyasri and rising fuel prices. Promises relating to free education, regional development, village infrastructure, housing for journalists and support for the aquaculture sector were also largely unfulfilled, she added.
