Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satwinderpal Singh alias Lucky Oberoi was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Friday, even as the Opposition parties took a dig at the AAP government over the poor law and order situation in the State.
The police said the incident took place around 8 a.m. when two scooter-borne unidentified assailants opened fire at 43-year-old Oberoi outside Gurudwara Singh Sabha in the Model Town area.
He was leaving after offering prayers at the gurudwara. Mr. Oberoi, who was a Jalandhar-based AAP leader, in charge of a ward in Jalandhar Cantonment,
was in a special utility vehicle (SUV) when the assailants opened fire at him.
