A senior leader of the Trinamool Congress faces further legal trouble as the state investigation agency has issued fresh summons for June 14, following a five-and-a-half-hour interrogation in an alleged forged signature case. The leader reportedly visited the party supremo's residence after the marathon questioning session at the agency's headquarters.
The developments come amid rising internal dissent, with a senior party Member of Parliament and veteran legal counsel announcing that he will no longer represent the leader in court. Additionally, the leader has been directed to appear before the federal financial probe agency on June 15 in connection with a separate recruitment scam case.
