In an interview, former minister and BRS deputy floor leader Harish Rao spoke about the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and its handling of a recent assault case involving a 12-year-old girl in Khammam. Rao stated that the victim's family is forced to buy medicines from private shops and demanded a Rs 10 lakh e gratia along with a fast-track court trial.
He highlighted a rise in crime, noting that POCSO cases have increased, stating, 'Every day five to six cases.' Rao said the government is focusing on phone tapping and arresting opposition leaders instead of ensuring public safety. He pointed out recent robberies and a murder in Jubilee Hills, stating that as Home Minister, Revanth Reddy has 'totally failed.' Additionally, Rao dismissed the Chief Minister's claims blaming the previous BRS regime for Hyderabad's monsoon issues, calling it 'a joke.' He also demanded an enquiry by a sitting judge or a Special Investigation Team into the rejection of AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan's nomination.
