(PTI file photo) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Varanasi for two days beginning June 12 to participate in a series of programmes being organised to mark 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Central Government. The event, scheduled in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency, will highlight major welfare schemes and development initiatives implemented by the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government over the past decade. According to officials, a large-scale public welfare exhibition and beneficiary outreach programme will be organised at the Girija Devi Sanskritik Sankul in Chaukaghat, where various government departments will showcase their schemes and achievements.
Welfare Scheme Beneficiaries to Receive Certificates During the programme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to distribute approval letters, certificates and benefits to beneficiaries of various government schemes, including street vendors and other eligible recipients. A public welfare camp will also be organised to provide information about government initiatives and facilitate access to benefits. Officials said the exhibition will feature stalls from several departments, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Tourism, Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, Labour, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Panchayati Raj, Skill Development Mission, Employment Services and the Rural Livelihood Mission. The event will also showcase Banaras’ traditional products under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, including wooden toys and Pink Meenakari handicrafts. Under the ‘One District One Cuisine’ theme, local delicacies such as lassi, Tiranga Barfi, Launglata and Banarasi paan will be displayed. Health Services and Screening Camps As part of the welfare camp, the Health Department will conduct breast cancer screening and general health check-ups.
Specialist doctors in orthopaedics, surgery and ENT will be available under the Divyang Medical Board, while ophthalmologists will provide eye examinations and consultations. Ayushman Mitras will also be present to assist beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and provide information on healthcare benefits. CM to Offer Prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple During his visit, the Chief Minister is also expected to offer prayers at the Kal Bhairav Temple and Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham. To Attend Vijnana Bharati Convention at BHU On June 13, Yogi Adityanath will participate as the Chief Guest at the 7th Convention of Vijnana Bharati being held at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The two-day convention, jointly organised by BHU and the Vedic Science Centre, is expected to witness participation from around 1,200 delegates, including scientists, researchers, academicians, policymakers, industry representatives and experts from India and abroad. Officials said the event aims to showcase the impact of development projects and welfare schemes that have been implemented since Prime Minister Modi assumed office in 2014 and Yogi Adityanath took charge of Uttar Pradesh in 2017.
