(Image for Representation) A 42-year-old man was killed during a robbery incident in Delhi’s Nand Nagri area in the early hours of Thursday. According to officials, information was received at Police Station Nand Nagri regarding an injured person lying near Gagan Cinema. A police team immediately rushed to the spot and found an unidentified male, aged around 35 to 40 years, lying in an injured condition on the road opposite the main gate of Gagan Cinema.
The victim was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police later identified the deceased as Mohd. Anis (42). According to preliminary findings, the accused allegedly choked the victim during the course of a robbery attempt, which led to his death. A case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station Nand Nagri. Crime and forensic teams inspected the scene and collected evidence as part of the investigation. Police said the accused has been identified and efforts are underway to arrest him at the earliest. Further investigation is currently in progress, and more details are awaited. The incident took place near the Zakhira flyover in the Sarai Rohilla area when the two employees were travelling on a scooter, carrying the cash to Chandni Chowk. According to police, two unidentified men on a motorcycle intercepted the scooter and threatened the employees with a firearm before fleeing with the bag containing the money. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, officials said, adding that the footage is being closely examined to help identify and trace the robbers. A case has been registered at the Sarai Rohilla police station, and multiple teams have been formed to investigate the robbery and track down the suspects, police said.
