So any so-called rebel or split, whatever there may be, they are not the Trinamool Congress. As long as Mamata Banerjee is alive and she is still involved in politics, the Trinamool is the Trinamool." Speaking about Abhishek Banerjee, she said: “Are you asking me whether Abhishek Banerjee was bad for the Party? No, he was not. I have seen how hard he has worked. I have seen the structures he’s brought to the Party. It’s very easy to point fingers and say Abhishek was all bad. No, he wasn’t. That’s not correct." Referring to Suvendu Adhikari, Moitra said, “Suvendu has a one-point agenda to finish Abhishek Banerjee because he believes that it was because of Abhishek Banerjee that Mamata Banerjee did not let him rise in the party beyond a certain point." Taking a sharp stand against the Bharatiya Janata Party, she said, “For me, it’s very clear, the BJP is my enemy till death.
I will need a platform to fight the BJP…whatever is wrong with my Party, it’s still the best option to fight the BJP. And to fight the majoritarianism in India today…I have a spine. You can kill me. You can do whatever you like. Until the BJP is out from India, I will never leave politics. I don’t care what they do to me. They can kill me, but I will see the end of the BJP before I die." TMC is facing internal turmoil following the party’s defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections. This comes after rebel TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said that a group of 20 MPs has formally requested separate seating arrangements in the Lok Sabha, pointing to an organisational divide within the party’s parliamentary ranks. Reports indicate that three more TMC MPs are planning to resign in the coming days. The TMC leadership also suffered a major setback in the West Bengal Assembly after a significant section of its legislators defied the party high command.
