The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed a retaliatory ballistic missile attack targeted the Al-Azraq Air Base and Control Center, where F-35, F-15, and F-16 fighter jets are located. According to Tehran, twelve ballistic missiles were fired in response to recent attacks near Karaj, Nazarabad, and Pishva. The military group accused the opposing forces of targeting recreation areas, production complexes, and military sites, and vowed to continue operations.
The exchange of strikes has raised concerns of a wider military escalation in the West Asia region, potentially disrupting a previous ceasefire.
