Two men on a motorcycle opened fire at the ’24 HRS Fitness’ gym in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area early on Thursday, with one bullet hitting the glass window of the premises.
No injuries were reported in the incident, the police said. Delhi Police said they received a call regarding the incident and rushed teams to the spot. An investigation has been launched, with officers examining CCTV footage from the area and collecting evidence to identify those involved and ascertain the motive behind the shooting. According to the police, the firing took place outside the immediate range of the gym’s CCTV cameras. Footage from surrounding areas is now being scanned as part of the probe. Anil Pandit, a US-based associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the attack through an audio note and a Facebook post.
He alleged that the gym belonged to Guru Randhawa and said it was targeted because the singer had become close to actor Salman Khan. Police said efforts are underway to establish details related to the ownership of the gym. So far, Outer Delhi Police have found no direct link between the fitness centre and singer Guru Randhawa. The gym is owned by a resident of Tagore Garden, officials said. Authorities said it would become clear whether the fitness centre was operating under a franchise arrangement only after further verification. Further investigation is underway.
