Four Bangladeshi men were arrested in Gurgaon for a house robbery and hostage situation last week. GURGAON: Four Bangladeshi men were arrested on Wednesday for robbing a house in Sector 23 and holding a family of three, including a minor, hostage last week.An officer said the accused tried to escape during the operation to arrest them and suffered injuries. The accused, Hilal, Mamo Khan, Mohammad Khairul Arman and Mohammad Maman, have several prior criminal cases registered against them, he added. They are residents of Wazirabad in Delhi.The victim registered a case at the Palam Vihar police station, alleging that four unidentified men broke open the iron grille of a rear window and entered his house on the night of June 4.
They then held him, his wife and 11-year-old daughter hostage, threatened to kill them if they tried to alert anyone and fled with gold and diamond jewellery, cash and other valuables worth about Rs 9 lakh.Police launched an investigation based on the complaint.“We traced the four accused to Bajghera underpass on Dwarka Road. When we tried to arrest them, they attempted to flee. In the process, Khairul Arman suffered injuries to both legs, while Maman and Hilal suffered injuries to one leg each.
Mamo Khan sustained an arm injury,” ACP (crime) Naveen Sharma said. All four were admitted to a hospital, he added.“Preliminary investigation has found that the accused carried out surveillance before targeting the house.It is part of their regular modus operandi,” the ACP added.Records show Hilal has 12 cases registered against him in Delhi, including theft, robbery, Arms Act violations and dacoity. Mamo Khan has one theft case registered against him in Delhi. Khairul Arman has eight cases registered in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, including theft, robbery, dacoity, offences under the Gangster Act and murder.
Maman has been booked in three cases in Gurgaon and Delhi related to theft, robbery and dacoity.Police said the accused had planned to flee to Bangladesh after the robbery but were caught before they could leave.
