The Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) held its convocation ceremony for undergraduate students of the 2020 batch on Wednesday. On the occasion, 259 graduates were awarded degrees. Prajwal Kashyap was the topper, receiving 10 medals for scoring well in various subjects, including Physiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Biochemistry, Ophthalmology and General Medicine. Other toppers included Pavan Gowda in Anatomy, Amilia Shibu and Shaikh Rubiya Abdusalam in Pathology, and Nabha H.N. in Microbiology. It was difficult to manage my hectic schedule along with long hours at my internship and the vast syllabus. But it is part of the profession. Over the last 125 years, the corridors of Victoria Hospital have witnessed countless stories of healing and innovation. A new 650-bed block, along with eight modular operation theatres, will soon be commissioned. As part of the 125-year celebrations, Victoria Hospital has raised nearly ₹8 crore over the last year. A 10-bedded dialysis unit will become operational in the
coming months.
