Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is on a three-day visit to New Delhi to meet Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The visit highlights the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government's strategy to maintain a cooperative working relationship with the central government to ensure state development and secure funds. Unlike the previous Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam regime, which boycotted the NITI Aayog meetings, CM Vijay is scheduled to attend the upcoming session.
He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister during his previous visit, and is now seeking a courtesy meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, in Chennai, CM Vijay launched the Singappen Task Force, an all-women police patrol team equipped with drones to crack down on crimes against women. The initiative has drawn criticism from the DMK, which accused the TVK of rebranding existing forces and shared a video claiming the police band played Vijay's movie songs during the launch event.
