Several videos have emerged showing the violent attack on security personnel inside the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot, Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PoK). According to CCTV footage accessed by CNN-News18, members of the banned Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) can be seen assaulting police personnel inside the hospital.
The footage shows officials of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police and Pakistan Rangers being brutally attacked by the mob. The clips show a group of people carrying sticks, allegedly from JAAC, storming the hospital and beating injured police personnel on hospital beds. The footage also captures the mob fighting among themselves and vandalising the hospital premises, creating a chaotic scene. The violence had erupted ahead of a planned protest on Tuesday over Habib’s death. At least 11 people were killed in the clashes, including seven security personnel. Meanwhile, in response, Pakistan security forces reportedly killed at least 35 Awami Action Committee protesters and local residents during the unrest from Sunday night into Monday.
