The Democratic Alliance is holding a meeting in the national capital to mark the Prime Minister completing twelve years in office. This milestone makes him the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in the country, surpassing the record held by the first Prime Minister. During the gathering at the Bharat Mandapam, cabinet ministers and alliance partners gave the Prime Minister a standing ovation.
An alliance partner is set to introduce a resolution congratulating the government on its performance, which other allies will second. The meeting serves as both a review of the past twelve years and a planning session for the future. Leaders are discussing the expansion of the alliance and preparing for upcoming assembly elections in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Punjab.
The discussions also highlight policy decisions made over the past 3,799 days, including defence reforms and Article 370. The event will conclude with an address by the Prime Minister to the assembled chief ministers and cabinet members.
