The Business Today Show highlights a sharp sell-off in Indian markets during the final trading minutes, with the Nifty and mid-cap indices slipping under pressure despite strong SIP inflows in May. In a healthcare development, the central government has cleared a price hike for critical cancer chemotherapy drugs, cisplatin and carboplatin, to address nationwide supply shortages caused by jumping platinum prices. Meanwhile, serious allegations have emerged against Air India ahead of the Ahmedabad plane crash anniversary.
Radhika Mishra, daughter of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, accused the airline of pressuring victims' families to sign final settlement documents, a claim Air India has denied. In Mumbai, the MMRDA announced a new initiative observing every Friday as a public transport day in the Bandra Kurla Complex to curb traffic congestion. Additionally, global rating agency Fitch reduced India's financial year 2027 growth estimate to 6.4 percent, citing the economic impact of the US-Iran conflict, while raising the financial year 2028 growth forecast to 6.7 percent.
