‘Mamata Has Become Dhritarashtra’: Rebel MP Satabdi Roy’s Explosive Attack On TMC Chief Published By, Last Updated: June 10, 2026, 13:42 IST Satabdi Roy attacks Mamata Banerjee, joins rebel camp led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, says TMC leaders voices were ignored and the bloc will seek ratification and back NDA. Satabdi Roy Backs NDA, Says More TMC MPs Will Quit Party The crisis within the Trinamool Congress deepened further on Wednesday as actor-turned-politician and four-time MP Satabdi Roy launched a sharp attack on the party leadership and defended her decision to join the rebel camp headed by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. Speaking to News18, Roy compared Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to “Dhritarashtra", accusing her of refusing to acknowledge the concerns being raised by party leaders. Roy, who has been appointed deputy leader of the rebel faction led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, said the group would seek formal ratification and continue supporting the Democratic Alliance (NDA). “We are a bloc and we will get ratification. We will support the NDA," Roy said.
‘Mamata no longer loves TMC’ Roy said she had remained loyal to Mamata Banerjee since 2009, when the Trinamool Congress was not in power. “I have been part of the party since 2009. At that time, they were not in power. All this time I was with Mamata," she said. According to Roy, several leaders met Mamata Banerjee after May 4 to discuss the party’s situation and concerns following the election outcome. “After May 4, we went to her residence to discuss, but she was not ready to accept the mandate. Why?" Roy asked. She claimed that the meeting convinced her that the party leadership was no longer willing to listen to the MPs and MLAs. “I had complaints, but after we met Mamata di, it was clear that she does not love her party," Roy said. ‘All MPs have complaints’ Satabdi Roy argued that dissatisfaction within the Trinamool Congress was widespread and not limited to a handful of leaders. “Why was the result a disaster?
All MPs have complaints with TMC. All of us are saying the same thing, but now we don’t want to continue anymore," she said. She also predicted that more MPs would leave the party in the coming days. “More MPs will go like Sushmita Dev. There is no future," Roy said. ‘Our voices were unheard’ Earlier, speaking to a news channel, Roy said Banerjee had changed significantly over the years. “Didi badal gayi thi. She changed a lot in the past few years. I have an emotional connection with her, but what matters to me is the work, and hence I have taken this decision," she said. Roy said one of the biggest reasons behind the rebellion was the inability of many leaders to access the party leadership. “I am leaving the party because our voices were unheard. I want to work for the people. But no one heard us. Only selective people had access to Mamata Banerjee," she said. Sources in the rebel camp echoed similar concerns, claiming that ministers often ignored MPs and that leaders were not consulted before important decisions were taken.
