On May 17, 15-year-old Shabba was found stuffed inside a tin box at a railway station in Lucknow. The box contained only her torso. Her severed hands and legs were found in a bag nearby, while her head was missing. Now, a week later, Shabba's murderer has turned out to be her father. According to the police, Biggan Ansari murdered her teen daughter in anger and fear of losing societal standing over her relationship with a boy from another community. He feared social stigma if that happened again, police said. Officials zeroed in on Ansari as the probe deepened through CCTV footage traced from stations along the train route. Investigators identified three people, including the father, placing the tin box on the train. He later confessed to murdering his daughter. According to police, the teenager had been speaking to a boy from another community over the phone, and her father had repeatedly warned her against maintaining contact with him. However, she allegedly continued the relationship. Setting the stage for the murder, Ansari first sent his wife and two sons to a relative’s house before informing his sister Noorjahan, and his brother-in-law Mujibulla -- both accused in the case -- about his plan on May 16.
He then killed his daughter, dismembered the body, and disposed of the severed head in a village pond, believing the body would remain unidentified without it. He then packed the torso in a tin box and the limbs in a separate bag. CCTV footage showed three individuals placing the tin box inside the sleeper coach at Tamkuhi Road Railway Station in Kushinagar before getting off from an adjacent AC coach. The suspects were later identified as Ansari, his sister and brother-in-law. The three accused travelled around 4 km from their home to the railway station, placed the body parts inside the train coach, and boarded an adjacent AC compartment to avoid suspicion before getting off later.
