Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination has been rejected after election authorities allegedly found discrepancies in the affidavit submitted with her nomination papers. Authorities claimed details related to a pending court case were not disclosed despite summons reportedly being issued.
The returning officer said mandatory disclosures were incomplete, leading to the rejection of her nomination. Following the development, BJP candidate Mahesh Kewat was elected unopposed, handing the ruling party a major political win. Meenakshi Natarajan has, however, launched a sharp counter-attack on the BJP over the controversy.
