Fresh Twist In TMC Rebel Camp: MP Partha Bhowmick Vacates Delhi Bungalow Housing Party Office | Exclusive Reported By, Edited By Last Updated: June 10, 2026, 07:28 IST With Bhowmick opting to vacate the premises and shift to a flat, the Trinamool Congress is likely to lose its existing operational base at that location. Rapid Read TMC MP Partha Bhowmick. (Image: PTI) A significant development has emerged amid the ongoing political turbulence surrounding the dissident Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs, with party MP Partha Bhowmick formally shifting out of the government bungalow in New Delhi that had been functioning as the party’s operational base in the national capital. Bhowmick had himself requested for him to be shifted out of the existing accommodation. According to an allotment order issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on June 9, 2026, Bhowmick has been allotted Flat No. 501, Hooghly (Type VII accommodation) as his regular official residence. The new allotment replaces Bungalow No 20, Dr Rajendra Prasad Road (Type VI accommodation), which had been occupied by the MP and was being used as the Trinamool Congress’s Delhi office.
The order, issued by the MS Branch of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, directs the MP to convey his acceptance or refusal of the accommodation within eight days and complete all occupation formalities in accordance with parliamentary housing rules. End of TMC’s Existing Delhi Base The move carries political significance because the Dr Rajendra Prasad Road bungalow had effectively served as the party’s Delhi headquarters in recent years. With Bhowmick opting to vacate the premises and shift to a flat, the Trinamool Congress is likely to lose its existing operational base at that location. The development comes at a time when a group of dissident TMC MPs is seeking recognition as a separate bloc in Parliament, triggering intense speculation about the future alignment of the party’s parliamentary unit. Evolution of TMC’s Delhi Offices The Trinamool Congress has historically operated its Delhi political activities from residences allotted to senior party leaders rather than from a dedicated party headquarters. Initially, the party functioned from the South Avenue residence of former TMC national leader Mukul Roy.
Following Roy’s departure from the party and his political differences with the TMC leadership, the party’s Delhi operations were shifted to the official residence of Abhishek Banerjee. Subsequently, the party began functioning from Partha Bhowmick’s bungalow at 20, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, making it the latest hub of the party’s activities in the capital. Political Significance Bhowmick’s decision to surrender the bungalow and move to a smaller flat is being closely watched in political circles because of the timing of the move and its implications for the party’s Delhi infrastructure. The change effectively brings an end to the arrangement under which the bungalow served as the Trinamool Congress’s principal operating base in New Delhi. It also comes against the backdrop of growing political uncertainty within the party’s parliamentary ranks and ongoing developments involving the dissident MPs. With the bungalow no longer available for party operations, questions are likely to arise regarding the future location and structure of the TMC’s Delhi office as the political situation continues to evolve.
