The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), through its constituent laboratories, including CSIR- Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), and Fourth Paradigm Institute (4PI), will organise the Research, Industry, Start-up and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Conclave 2026 in Bengaluru on June 13 and 14. The two-day national conclave, to be held at the V.M. Ghatge Convention Centre, is themed “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Driven Growth for Viksit Bharat 2047” and aims to bring together researchers, industry representatives, start-ups, academics, policymakers, investors, and students to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem. Addressing a press conference at CSIR-CFTRI on Tuesday, Director Dr. Giridhar Parvatam said the conclave will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh.
CSIR Director General and DSIR Secretary Dr. N. Kalaiselvi will also participate in the event. According to CSIR-CFTRI, the conclave is aligned with the national vision of translating scientific research into commercially viable products, technologies, and ventures through stronger collaboration among laboratories, universities, industries, and start-ups. More than 100 start-ups, MSMEs and technology exhibitors supported by organisations such as ISRO, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) are expected to showcase innovations and technologies with commercial potential. A major highlight of the conclave will be the participation of 12 start-ups incubated at the CSIR-CFTRI incubation centre in Mysuru. These ventures will exhibit products developed using CFTRI technologies, including protein bars, low-glycemic-index foods for diabetics, and millet-based nutritional products.
Several CFTRI technology licensees will also display their products at the exhibition. The conclave will feature thematic sessions on aerospace technologies, science communication, artificial intelligence and ethics, agri-food innovation, entrepreneurship, venture capital, funding, and industry-academia collaboration, according to the Director. Experts from leading institutions and companies, including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bosch, IBM Quantum, NVIDIA, Tata Advanced Systems and NSRCEL, are expected to participate in discussions and panel sessions. Parvatam said the event is intended to bridge the gap between laboratory research and market-ready solutions by fostering collaborations among scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders. Senior scientist Prof. A.A. Inamdar said CSIR-CFTRI will sign four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the conclave, including agreements with premier IITs, IIMs and NABARD.
