(Image: AP) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-nation visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to 18. During the first leg of the tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Nice in France on June 14 for bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, where the two leaders are expected to review the India-France ties under the recently elevated Special Global Strategic Partnership, according to a press release shared by the Ministry of External Affairs.
The trip is expected to strengthen India’s strategic, economic and technological partnerships in Europe. They will also jointly inaugurate the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, a major platform bringing together leading startups and venture capital funds from India, France and other countries. Historic Visit To Slovakia By Indian PM On the second leg of his visit, PM Modi will travel to Slovakia for a State Visit from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. The visit will be the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country’s independence in 1993. Discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, automobile manufacturing and railway production. The PM is also scheduled to meet Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. PM Modi To Participate In G7 Summit On June 16-17, the Prime Minister will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, France, where he will engage with G7 leaders, partner countries and international organisations on issues including economic growth, global partnerships and artificial intelligence.
He is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit. The final leg of the visit will take PM Modi to Paris on June 18, where he will attend the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event, and interact with members of the Indian diaspora. The government said the visit is expected to deepen India’s ties with France and Slovakia, strengthen engagement with the European Union, promote innovation partnerships and reinforce India’s role as a leading voice of the Global South on major international issues.
