The event is being organised as part of the India–France Year of Innovation and aims to strengthen cooperation in technology, entrepreneurship and investment. In the second leg of the tour, PM Modi will undertake a historic State Visit to Slovakia from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. This will mark the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country’s independence in 1993. In Slovakia, PM Modi will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Fico and meet President Peter Pellegrini. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and manufacturing sectors, including automobiles and railways.
PM Modi's Slovakia visit follows recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, including the Slovak President’s participation in the AI Impact Summit in India in February 2026. PM Modi will then travel to Evian, France, on June 16–17 to attend the G7 Summit, where he is expected to participate in discussions on global economic recovery, international solidarity, and the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence. He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines of the annual summit, including US President Donald Trump. Any meeting with PM Modi and Trump will be watched closely amid ongoing trade tensions between India and the US.
The Prime Minister’s final stop will be Paris on June 18, where he will attend further bilateral engagements and participate in the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event. He is also scheduled to address members of the Indian diaspora in France. According to the government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit underscores India’s deepening cooperation with European countries in the areas of innovation, digital transformation and sustainable economic growth. It further stated that India’s participation in the G7 Summit highlights its role as a leading voice of the Global South. Ends
