The Tamil Nadu government has launched a special task force and patrol programme for the protection of women and children. An all-women team, consisting of a sub-inspector, two head constables, and a driver, will operate these patrol vehicles. The state government plans to establish over five hundred special camps and invest over three hundred crore rupees into this initiative, which is expected to create jobs for two thousand five hundred women.
The initiative aims to address safety concerns by targeting the root causes of crimes against women, including drug abuse and prevalence. This safety programme was implemented shortly after the new administration assumed power in the state.
