Transport costs are soaring around New York and Boston ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with train fares rising as much as six times their normal price on match days. New Jersey Transit says it faces roughly $50m in added expenses due to the tournament and argues FIFA โ projected to earn $11bn in profits โ should contribute.
