The Union Finance Ministry is set to monitor the utilisation of central government flagship schemes by the previous West Bengal government. According to sources, banks will conduct a comprehensive three-hundred-and-sixty-degree assessment to determine if these flagship programmes, such as Mudra, achieved saturation or faced shortfalls in the state.
The banks will submit their findings in a report to the Finance Ministry. Additionally, the ministry will review pending bills and financial rollouts, checking if any payments remain stalled or need to be cleared by the state or central governments. This assessment aims to track the implementation of welfare schemes designed for the people.
