He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was personally monitoring the situation as he sought to reassure affected students that the government was taking all necessary measures to ensure confidentiality in exam procedures. The statement comes amid mounting concerns surrounding the security of national-level entrance examinations after allegations of paper leak in Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026 surfaced. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Pradhan said: “NTA is going to conduct the re-NEET examination on June 21.
During this period, we have reviewed the preparations several times. Today, I personally visited the NTA headquarters to assess how the preparations for the re-NEET exam are progressing." The minister asserted that the government had taken necessary measures to ensure the test was conducted in a fair manner. Every department involved in this process has specific responsibilities. This time, we have taken even greater precautions. Several high-level meetings have been held under the leadership of the Cabinet Secretary with the secretaries of the concerned departments", he added.
Pradhan Vows ‘Seriousness, Accountability’ Dharmendra Pradhan expressed confidence that the Testing Agency (NTA) would “succeed in conducting an error-free examination". “I have complete confidence in our team. This time, as we have planned, the examination will be conducted across 551 cities in the country through 5,435 centers, including 14 centers outside India. All the necessary arrangements are being completed. I am fully assured that we have taken up this responsibility with seriousness and accountability, and the NTA will certainly succeed in carrying it out…" “I would like to reassure students and their parents. We had said earlier that we would conduct an error-free NEET examination this time, and I want to reassure everyone once again. We will also declare the results on time so that students do not lose valuable learning time", he added. Pradhan reassured students that the re-test would be conducted “flawlessly", urging them to concentrate on studies.
