Protests over the situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have now spread beyond the region, with demonstrations reported in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Members of the Kashmiri diaspora have raised concerns over the alleged communication blackouts, arrests and restrictions in PoK.
The issue has also reached the UK political space, with British MPs reportedly raising concerns over the deteriorating situation and seeking attention to the alleged crackdown, communication disruptions and detentions. PoK activist Dr Amjad Ayub Mirza reacts to the growing unrest, saying the protests reflect deep anger against Pakistan’s control and the treatment of people in the occupied region.
As the crisis intensifies, questions are being raised over human rights, democratic freedoms, Pakistan’s handling of PoK and the international response. n18oc_breaking-news n18oc_world News18 Mobile
