Fighting continues in the south-western Yemeni city of Taiz, as the UN warns that time is running out to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid. Taiz is the country’s third-largest city and is held by Yemen’s internationally recognised government, but has endured repeated sieges by the Houthis, an armed group also known as Ansar Allah.

Al Jazeera’s Hadeel Al Yamani reports that fronts that had been relatively quiet have flared again, with fierce clashes towards the Western Front, including around Dhubab, as the Iran-backed armed group tries to break through and advance towards the city.

The city is besieged from several directions, and residential neighbourhoods on the active southern front, including near Jabal Saber, the southern gateway to Taiz, are repeatedly coming under attack. Al Jazeera’s Hadeel Al Yamani reports from Taiz.
