Tamil Nadu Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management K.A. Sengottaiyan on Tuesday (June 9, 2026) said measures were under way to streamline and simplify the process of obtaining community certificates in the State. Speaking to reporters at the State Emergency Operations Centre at Ezhilagam in Chennai before chairing a review meeting of the department, Mr. Sengottaiyan said the meeting would focus on identifying pending works in the department and ways to expedite them.
He said there were delays in processing online applications for certain services in some cases. Instructions had been given to the respective Village Administrative Officers to verify the applications at the earliest and
ensure the process was completed within five days. A survey would be conducted to identify lands belonging to the State government across Tamil Nadu and study how they could be put to productive
use, he said. The Minister added, the Union government had sanctioned โน1,000 crore towards disaster management funds required for Tamil Nadu and that the State government was fully prepared for the Southwest monsoon.
