A local court in Patna on Tuesday (June 9, 2026) stayed the arrest of popular educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, also known as âKhan Sirâ, in connection with a firing that happened at his coaching institute on the night of June 2. Earlier, Mr. Khanâs lawyer Arwind Kumar Mahuar had filed an anticipatory bail petition at Patna District court. Since then, Mr Khan is said to have been untraceable. âRelevant facts have been presented before the Judge who provided the legal relief to the petitioner,â Mr. Mahuar told media persons while asserting that his client (Mr. Khan) âhas no direct involvement in the incident.â âThe case stems from a violent confrontation that the police say was linked to a rivalry between Khan Global Studies (KGS) and another coaching Institute,â he added further.
While hearing the case on Tuesday (June 9, 2026), the Court clarified that âinvestigators are free to question Mr. Khan in connection with the case but no coercive or punitive action, including arrest can be taken against him while the interim protection remains in force.â The Court also directed Patna police to produce the case diary and evidence of the incident in the case. The FIR in the case was lodged against Mr. Khan at Kadamkuan police station of Patna on June 4. The Court also reserved order on the bail plea of Raushan Anand, the rival coaching institute owner and teacher who was earlier arrested in the case along with two others â Abhishek Kumar and Gaurav Kumar â on the night of June 2 itself, after Mr. Khan had alleged that they may have orchestrated the attack on his coaching institute.
Anand is director of the famed Gyan Bindu coaching institute of Patna where thousands of students receive coaching for government job entrance exams. The incident had happened on June 2, 2026 when a group of around 15-20 people allegedly gathered outside Mr. Khanâs coaching institut in Patnaâs Musallahpur Hat area and brutally beat up one of coaching instituteâs guard â Chun Chun Kumar. Later, Mr. Khanâs two bodyguards were seen on a viral video on social media firing in the air. The two guards, later, were taken into custody by police and their weapons were also seized for forensic examination. The guards told the Patna police that they had fired in the air on âinstructionsâ of Mr. Khan.
âState government will formulate a policy within the next three months to prevent such rivalry among coaching institutes which disturbs the law and order situation,â said Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari.
