He was booked under fraud and Foreigners Act. Police arrested the man under the Vipassana Meditation Centre flyover on Kisan Path. (ANI) An alleged Bangladeshi citizen was arrested in Lucknow’s BKT area for residing illegally in India using forged identity documents, police said on Thursday. According to the reports, he entered India via Nepal in 2012, obtained Aadhaar, voter ID, passport, and even bought land.
The accused, identified as Arup Bakshi, is a resident of the Narail district of Bangladesh. According to police, he had allegedly obtained an Indian Aadhaar card and passport using fake documents to stay in the country unlawfully. Police arrested the accused near the Vipassana Meditation Centre flyover on Kisan Path in the BKT area. During the operation, officials recovered an Aadhaar card, Rs 300 in cash, and an Oppo mobile phone from his possession. The accused, Arup Bakshi, was living illegally by obtaining an Indian identity card and passport using fake documents.

A case has been registered against the accused at the BKT police station under charges related to fraud, forgery, and provisions of the Foreigners Act. During questioning, Bakshi allegedly admitted to living illegally in India and obtaining forged documents, police added.
