A 56-year-old Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (TSCSCL) manager allegedly ended his life at a lodge in Bhadrachalam on Saturday evening, following alleged harassment and coercion by six persons. The deceased, Ananthula Lakshminarayana, was manager of the TSCSCL LPG Centre at Palvancha in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Bhadrachalam town police registered a case under Sections 108 read with 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the six accused based on a complaint lodged by his daughter. According to the complaint, a contract computer operator allegedly bore a grudge against Lakshminarayana for preventing her from collecting additional money from consumers.

The woman employee, her husband, a journalist, and four others, including three reporters of separate vernacular TV channels, allegedly harassed him after a sexual harassment complaint was lodged against him with the district authorities. The complainant further alleged that the accused demanded ₹1 crore to withdraw the complaint, causing her father mental distress.
