BRIDE DISAPPEARS WITH LOVER BEFORE WEDDING The bride allegedly left her home on Friday night along with jewellery and eloped with her boyfriend, family members later discovered. By the time relatives learned about her disappearance on Saturday morning, the groom's procession had already begun arriving for the ceremony. The development created tension between the two families, who faced the prospect of cancelling the wedding at the last moment. FAMILIES AGREE ON YOUNGER SISTER'S NIKAH In an attempt to save the marriage arrangement and avoid social embarrassment, relatives and village elders reportedly held lengthy discussions and a local panchayat. During these deliberations, the bride's family proposed that the groom marry the bride's younger sister instead.
After extensive talks, both sides reportedly agreed to the proposal and preparations began for the revised wedding arrangement. ANOTHER LOVE AFFAIR COMES TO LIGHT Just as the nikah was about to proceed, fresh controversy erupted when information allegedly emerged that the younger sister was also involved in a romantic relationship and did not wish to marry the groom. According to reports, a young man claiming to be her boyfriend appeared and stated that the two were in a relationship. The revelation led to heated arguments between members of both families. CLASH ERUPTS AT WEDDING VENUE The dispute soon escalated into a physical confrontation. Witnesses said people from both sides came face-to-face, with sticks, bricks and stones reportedly used during the clash.
Several people were injured in the violence, including the bride's cousin, her brother-in-law and another individual. Panic spread among wedding guests as the celebrations descended into chaos. POLICE INTERVENE, FOUR DETAINED Following information about the disturbance, police from Bithri Chainpur reached the venue and brought the situation under control. Authorities reportedly detained four people for questioning. The wedding was ultimately called off, and the groom's side returned home without a bride.
