Is Kimberly Guilfoyle about to lose her job as US ambassador to Greece? President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are reportedly weighing her removal following a series of reports alleging improper conduct during her diplomatic tenure and before her confirmation. The controversy includes allegations that Guilfoyle accepted improper gifts, business interests and sought help from a Trump donor with a $100,000 credit-card bill in exchange for access to senior administration officials.
Reports have also raised questions about her conduct with Greek officials and embassy staff. Guilfoyle’s lawyer has denied wrongdoing, and no final decision on her position has been publicly confirmed. With scrutiny mounting and questions being raised about diplomatic ethics and accountability, will Trump and Rubio take action against the ambassador? What could the controversy mean for the administration and its diplomatic standing?
