DMK Skips Alliance Meet As TVK's RSS Claims And Tiruparankundram Lamp Row Heat Up State Politics
A political debate has emerged in Tamil Nadu following the DMK's decision to skip the INDE Alliance meeting, signaling a potential rift with the Congress
A political debate has emerged in Tamil Nadu following the DMK's decision to skip the INDE Alliance meeting, signaling a potential rift with the Congress. The TVK has claimed that the DMK's absence is due to an underlying partnership with the RSS. In response, the BJP has dismissed the INDE Alliance as shattered and criticized the TVK, labeling it as a secondary version of the DMK that relies on the ruling party's support.
The BJP defended the RSS as a non-political service organization and emphasized its own focus on establishing a double-engine government for the state's development. Furthermore, the BJP accused the TVK of minority appeasement regarding the Tiruparankundram hill controversy, where the lighting of a lamp was reportedly stopped. The discussion also covered the BJP's historical contributions to the state, such as the Cauvery Management Board, and addressed internal party dynamics, including the exit of the former state president and the emergence of new political leaders in Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2026 elections.
