He, however, did not acknowledge whether he has agreed to a ceasefire. “At the moment, the fire has ceased, because after we struck the terror regime in Tehran, it stopped attacking us. If the terror regime in Iran makes the mistake of attacking us again, we will respond with force," Netanyahu said in a statement Monday. This came hours after US President Donald Trump made another call to Netanyahu amid reports of an escalation of tit-for-tat strikes by Iran and Israel.
Check for Live Updates “I told Bibi, you better be very careful with what you do, because you might soon be left alone against Iran," Trump was quoted as saying, according to Israel’s Channel 12 News. “I tried to limit the size of the Israeli response to Iran after 5 countries asked me to pressure Netanyahu." While Iran said its attacks were in response to an Israeli attack on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Trump reportedly urged Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call on Sunday to hold off on launching a retaliatory attack. However, Israel continued its attacks on multiple targets in Iran. According to CNN, Israel has accepted the Trump administration’s request to halt strikes on Iran, but said attacks in Lebanon will continue. Netanyahu said: “They thought they could fire at Israel from Lebanese and Iranian territory, and that we would not respond.
That did not happen, and it will not happen. Not on my watch. I firmly stand by our right to act against our enemies." Meanwhile, the Israeli military has announced that restrictions on schools and workplaces will likely be lifted on Tuesday at 6 am. In the “frontline area" and northern Israel communities, a “partial activity level" will be in place, meaning schools and workplaces will reopen as long as they are located close to a protected shelter area, CNN quoted the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). After Israel’s announcement, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization was quoted by the state media saying that its airspace has returned to “normal conditions," and flight operations are expected to resume after Israel and Iran traded strikes. “With safe conditions now in place and the necessary coordination completed with relevant authorities, flight restrictions have been lifted, and the country’s aviation activities are gradually returning to their normal schedule," state broadcaster IRIB cited the organization as saying.
