The INDIA alliance held a meeting with over twenty-two opposition parties to discuss strategies against the Bharatiya Janata Party. A Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam representative stated that continuing an alliance with the Indian Congress is impossible, citing a severe trust deficit after the Congress allied with a new political party in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, a Communist Party of India (Marxist) Member of Parliament raised concerns about the Congress targeting left-wing leadership during state elections in Kerala, urging the bloc to prioritise the national fight against the ruling party over regional electoral gains and ministerial positions. A Congress representative acknowledged the friction caused by state-level electoral decisions and emphasised the need to establish a formal secretariat to improve coordination among alliance partners.
