Cordelia Cruises, a premium cruise line, is set to resume its sailings from Visakhapatnam in June, offering travellers on the eastern coast a range of itineraries departing through mid-July, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum president K. Vijay Mohan announced on Monday. The cruise line, which first called at the port in 2022 and returned in 2025, will operate three categories of voyages aboard the Cordelia Empress as part of its Chennai-based deployment.
Travellers can choose a 2-night one-way cruise from Chennai to Visakhapatnam, a 3-night one-way cruise from Visakhapatnam to Chennai via Puducherry, or a 5-night round trip connecting both ports. Departures are scheduled every week from June 22 through July 15. Jurgen Bailom, President and CEO of Cordelia Cruises, said Visakhapatnam was increasingly being seen not only as a destination but as a point of departure.
“We see strong potential for Visakhapatnam to continue growing as a gateway for cruise travel, especially for families and groups planning their next holiday together,” he said The Cordelia Empress is a 692-feet vessel with a gross tonnage of 48,563 tons and 11 decks. It accommodates up to 1,592 guests at double occupancy and up to 1,950 at higher sharing configurations, across 796 cabins in five categories.
The ship features four dining venues, nine bars and lounges, a casino, a spa, a rock climbing wall, and live entertainment. Tickets are available on the company’s website. The company said the itineraries were part of its efforts to expand domestic cruise travel options and strengthen connectivity between key destinations along the eastern seaboard.
