The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was a 2015 international agreement to enforce limits on Iran's capacity to develop nuclear munitions. Members of the Trump administration are now working to strike a deal that could end fighting in the middle east, re-open the Strait of Hormuz, and advance efforts toward non-proliferation in Iran. Shifting relationships between the U.S. and other global superpowers are likely to make that task more difficult.
