हालांकि पायलट की सूझबूझ से एक बड़ा हादसा टल गया और सभी यात्री सुरक्षित रह गए। दरअसल यह हेलीकॉप्टर श्रद्धालुओं को लेकर लौट रहा था और उसी दौरान हेलीकॉप्टर हाई टेंशन लाइन की चपेट में आ गया और हेलीकॉप्टर के पिछले हिस्से को नुकसान पहुंच गया। लेकिन पायलट ने सूझबूझ दिखाई और टिहरी के सुरकर्णा मंदिर के पास हेलीकॉप्टर को खेत के बीच ही सुरक्षित उतार दिया गया।
