More than 3,000 Yemeni refugees have arrived in Obock, Djibouti, fleeing conflict across the Bab al-Mandab Strait, putting severe pressure on the town's limited resources. Al Jazeera's Hassan Razzaq reports from Obock, where local authorities say the influx has exceeded the town's capacity to provide food, water and shelter.
Many refugees are sleeping in the open and describe an urgent need for basic necessities and safer living conditions. Aid organisations including Qatar Charity and the International Organization for Migration are providing assistance, but Ghada Ezz El-Din says the needs continue to far outstrip available resources.
