A shopping centre in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia was engulfed in flames Thursday (September 17) after a Russian attack, officials said. Video released by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration showed a massive blaze tearing through the building. Reuters was able to confirm the location from buildings and business signage which matched archival imagery of the area.
The date was verified by local officials. Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said on Thursday that Russian forces attacked a shopping centre in Zaporizhzhia. No older version of the footage was found posted online before September 17. No casualties were reported.
