'Watch Skies Over Occupied Lands Tonight': Iran Warns Of Strikes On Israel Over Lebanon Published By, Last Updated: June 07, 2026, 20:50 IST The warning came after Israel’s military said it struck targets in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday, hitting two apartments in separate buildings in the Dahiyeh area. (AFP photo) An Iranian lawmaker has warned of a “painful and decisive response" against Israel following its strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, telling Israel to “watch the skies over the occupied lands tonight." Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for Iran’s parliamentary Security and Foreign Policy Committee, posted the remarks on social media platform X, saying Iran would respond strongly to what he called as an attack on the Dahiyeh district of Beirut. “We will deliver a decisive and painful response to the Zionist regime’s attack on Dahiyeh," Rezaei wrote.
“These rabid dogs must be disciplined and put back in their place. Watch the skies over the occupied lands tonight." به حمله رژیم صهیونسیتی به ضاحیه پاسخ قاطع و دردآور خواهیم داد. این سگ هار را باید تأدیب کرد و سر جایش نشاند.امشب آسمان سرزمینهای اشغالی را ببینید.— ابراهیم رضایی (@EbrahimRezaei14) June 7, 2026 The warning came after Israel’s military said it struck targets in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday, hitting two apartments in separate buildings in the Dahiyeh area. Israel strikes Beirut southern suburbs The Israeli military said the strikes were carried out in response to rocket fire from Hezbollah towards northern Israel earlier in the day, when two projectiles were intercepted. It later said it had destroyed the launchers used in the attack. Lebanon’s state-run News Agency reported damage to residential buildings in the area. Following the strikes, Israel issued an evacuation warning for most parts of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre and surrounding areas.
Israeli strikes on Lebanon have killed more than 3,560 people since the country was drawn into the wider war after Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel on 2 March in support of Iran. An April ceasefire was never observed, while a new conditional truce agreement announced in recent days was rejected by Hezbollah almost immediately. Earlier this week in Washington, Lebanese and Israeli envoys touted a conditional truce that would have required Hezbollah to stop firing, withdraw from near the Israeli border and would see Lebanon’s army deploy to new “pilot zones" in the area, where it would exercise exclusive control. But Hezbollah rejected the agreement, demanding a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. Iran’s Araghchi had previously warned that any attack on Beirut would trigger a “full-scale resumption" of the war.
