Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner Bhanwar Singh Meena instructed officials to install CCTV cameras at popular tourist destinations of the district, including Mullayyanagiri and Seethalayyanagiri. The officer gave the instructions after reviewing basic amenities and security measures during his visit to the hill stations on Saturday. He told the officers on board to give instructions to the tourists at the entry points and make sure that the visitors returned safely.
He also reviewed the steps taken to ensure the safety of the trekkers in the hill stations. The Deputy Commissioner ordered that necessary measures be taken for waste management at the hill region’s tourist sites and that dustbins be installed at required locations. He directed that signboards be placed informing visitors that the Mullayyanagiri and Seetalayanagiri areas have been declared plastic-free zones, instructing tourists not to use plastic and to dispose of waste in bins.
