The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Sunday condemned the attack on its leaders by alleged RSS activists during a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and demanded action against those responsible.
Addressing a protest organised near the Gandhi statue at the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), CPI district secretary Sheikh Rahiman alleged that the CPI national secretary Annie Raja and other party leaders were attacked while extending support to a demonstration over the NEET question paper leak issue.
He demanded that cases be registered against those involved and criticised the BJP-led Centre for allegedly suppressing democratic rights. Several CPI leaders and activists, including Attili Vimala, M.
Paidiraju Chandrasekhar, participated in the protest.
