The 31-year-old footballer was detained after the Lamborghini he was driving reportedly collided with barriers on the southbound carriageway near the Minley Interchange in Hampshire on Thursday morning. Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident and that there were no reported injuries. Police Confirm Arrest In a statement, Hampshire Police outlined the circumstances surrounding the incident and the subsequent arrest.
“Just before 9am on Thursday, we received reports that a Lamborghini was in collision with barriers on the M3 southbound, close to the Minley Interchange," the statement read. “No other vehicles were involved, and no injuries were reported. “The driver, a 31-year-old man, from Berkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen. “He has been bailed while our enquiries continue." While police did not initially identify the driver, reports later confirmed that Sterling had been arrested. ‘An Extremely Tough Couple Of Years’ Following news of the arrest, a source close to Sterling claimed the player has been dealing with significant personal and professional challenges in recent years.
