According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Shivakumar had also received an invitation to visit Malaysia to further strengthen cooperation. “Delighted to speak with the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia, who called to convey his warm wishes on my new responsibility as Chief Minister of Karnataka," the CM posted on X, sharing a short video of the conversation.

Shivakumar was sworn-in as the Chief Minister along with 13 ministers on June 3. An eight-time legislator, Shivakumar had also received congratulatory message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“He has wished me, and I thank him for that," he told reporters on Saturday, adding he would meet the Prime Minister to fetch support for the state’s development agenda. On Friday, PM Modi attacked the Congress saying the decision to replace its CM in Karnataka was the result of growing public anger against its government. In response, Shivakumar said: “I will go and meet him. We should not do politics and they should not do politics either. Let us cooperate on development issues."
