In an unprecedented move, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will transport question papers for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21. The decision comes after the Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the earlier exam amid allegations of a paper leak. More than 2.2 million students are expected to appear for the re-test, making it one of the largest entrance examinations in the country.
Authorities have announced enhanced security measures, including Air Force-assisted transportation of question papers, increased police deployment, social media monitoring, and strict vigilance at examination centres. The government has also informed the Supreme Court that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally supervising developments related to the examination, while the CBI continues its investigation into the paper leak allegations. Will these extraordinary measures restore confidence in India's biggest medical entrance exam?
