A 28-year-old man died and a 31-year-old woman was hospitalised after attending a techno music event at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai. The man collapsed during the event and was declared dead at Breach Candy Hospital. The woman, who also complained of complications, is currently undergoing treatment at Jaslok Hospital and remains in stable condition. The Tardeo Police and the Crime Branch have launched a parallel inquiry into the incident.
Authorities are investigating the potential link between the medical emergencies and the excessive consumption of alcohol and energy drinks served at the concert. While a drug angle is also being explored, no evidence of drug use or trafficking has been found so far. The incident highlights the health risks associated with binge drinking and mixing alcohol with energy drinks, which can mask drunkenness and lead to dehydration, palpitations, liver damage, and fatal heart complications.
